Christmas Luncheon 12/98
Tsukuba ITC Club - Christmas Luncheon
December 8, 1998

The following is the report of our 1998 Christmas Luncheon by Junko Nakauchi, Program Leader of the occasion.

We started our blessed luncheon with ITC pledge followed by Inspiration:
No matter how dull, or how mean, or how wise a man is,
he feels that happiness is his indisputable right.
(the words by Helen Keller)

So did our biggest fuss in the year. We had five guests with different nationalities such as Australians, American and Japanese.

Program was divided into four parts.

1. Christmas story
Our member Ms.Melissa Ishio from Texas, USA introduced her recitation from the Bible. That is the one she had to memorize at the church gathering when she was an elementary student. A heartwarming short story when Jesus was born. We all appreciated the genuine spirit of Christmas she presented.

2. Games
We had two different games, one is called "Baby game" in which we guess who it is. Ms. Mariko Miyazaki was in charge of this game and she was very talented to make this game so exciting. This was a prize-giving game and Group A got the first. The other game was a kind of psychic. We used the several magazines to be pointed out. Our member Ms. Debbie Saxon became a person who could tell what the partner had pointed out. Its trick is still unknown although some of them recognized how she could managed to do so.

3. Fun-Singing
I (program leader Ms.Junko Nakauchi) introduced a song titled "There's a sunny side to every situation" from the famous musical "The 42nd street." But this is not just a singing. I introduced the words in the song first without listening to the music. I wanted participants to be more aware of these words in the song. I hope it worked well.

4. Auction
As was usual, we had a noisy but exciting, wonderful moment to bid for many attractive items. Auctioneer was Mr. Etsuo Aita. We had been all happy till the last moment.

During this special season we would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
